History
The patron saint of the school is known for founding the Dominican order.
Saint Dominic recognized the need to use all resources of human learning in the service of Christ.
The original St Dominic Separate School was built in 1868 on Lindsay Street.The current building, located on Mary Street, opened in September 1994.
Did you know that...
St Dominic raises money each year for the The Terry Fox Foundation. We now include a bicycle ride on local trails as part of this event.
Each year during Advent, our school community donates items to families in need through our Be An Angel program.

St. Dominic is a Gold Eco-School. The Environmental Club works very hard to promote recycling in our school and environmentally friendly habits.
Active living is an important part of our daily routine. Students enjoy being involved in a number of intramural sports such as outdoor hockey, soccer, as well as team sports such as volleyball, basketball, soccer and track and field. \
St. Dominic celebrates the arts during our annual Christmas Concert and Talent Show.
Our school choir shares their talents during school Masses and are regularly invited to perform in our local community at such events as Lindsay's "Christmas Tree Lighting".
Our Positive Action student group takes on many leadership roles including organizing monthly spirit days.

Parish Information
St. Dominic Catholic Elementary School is a welcoming community with a mission to assist all students to achieve their spiritual, physical, intellectual and emotional potential in a caring environment.

The school comes together to celebrate monthly school masses with its affiliated parish, St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, led by Fr. Tom Lynch and Fr. Stan Witczak.
