History

The patron saint of the school is known for founding the Dominican order.

Saint Dominic recognized the need to use all resources of human learning in the service of Christ.

The original St Dominic Separate School was built in 1868 on Lindsay Street.The current building, located on Mary Street, opened in September 1994.

Each school day has the following schedule: 

8:40 A.M  Supervision

8:55 A.M. Entry Bell

10:25 - 10:40 A.M Recess

12:05 P.M. - 1:05 P.M. Lunch

2:30 P.M. - 2:40 P.M. Recess

3:20 P.M. Dismissal  

Parish Information

St. Dominic Catholic Elementary School is a welcoming community with a mission to assist all students to achieve their spiritual, physical, intellectual and emotional potential in a caring environment.

The tone of the school reflects a theme of respect and responsibility, a collaborative approach to problem solving, and a community focus made up of students, staff, parents, parish, and the wider community. The school comes together to celebrate monthly school masses with its affiliated parish, St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, led by Fr. Tom Lynch and Fr. Stan Witczak.
